This is a painting of Bonnieux, a small French village an hour north of Aix-en-Provence. I first traveled to Bonnieux in the early fall of 2019 with a group of students studying the architecture and art of this region.
If choosing the matt & frame option, I will be in touch with you after purchase to confirm the color options (I generally mat in white and frame in light wood).

Why Did I Paint This?
I first traveled to Bonnieux on a trip with The Marchutz School to study architecture and art of this region. The view coming into this little village is magnificent and we got off the bus so that we could walk into town on the road that winds down the hill and then back up again through the town. This region is full of beautiful, tiny villages like this one, and many more which I’m excited to paint. This is a very special painting to me as it’s the first one I made on coming to southern France.
Artist to Follow
My favorite artist to follow this week is Hannah Pickle. I’ve been following Hannah for a few months and I adore her bright, artistic, New Orleans style for all things wedding and portrait photography. Following her love stories brought to life through photography keeps me just a bit closer to my favorite heart city. (She also seems like an absolute blast to work with.)
