My Favorite New Orleans Places in Photos
Last moth I travelled back to New Orleans. Yes, during a pandemic. It wasn’t what I would have chosen, but circumstances brought me back there. Although traveling this summer was intense, I loved being back in my forever home. I got some pretty nice photos as well, if I do say so myself. Here are some of my favorites from the trip.
Starting with shotgun houses of course! My Mom and I walked for miles around the uptown magazine, Marigny and Bywater neighborhood. This by no means comes close to representing the various, vibrant neighborhoods of New Orleans. It is, however, where I spend the most time when Mom is in town.
A stunning mural by Brandan BMike Odums (@bmike2c) with an abandoned couch because, New Orleans.
A little house uptown almost obscured by its beautiful foliage; this is the type of house I dream about having one day.
Hey! Cafe, where I had my first ever self-curated exhibition and opening party, remains one of my favorite places to have a coffee in New Orleans.
Last but not least, the view from The Sulley Mansion’s porch during a big summer rainstorm. Living in the South of France really has me missing this kind of rain.
Classic New Orleans jungle plants after a ran; this was outside Atchafalaya, my mom and I’s favorite brunch spot.
Atchafalaya after a summer rain; this is my absolute favorite place to go with my family on a Sunday.
Two houses sit side by side looking just adorable in the Bywater neighborhood.
The Bead Shop Uptown is one of my earliest memories of New Orleans. My aunt took me here when I first visited New Orleans nearly 15 years ago, and I remember it being a literal wonderland.
It doesn’t get more classic USA southern than this.
The Oak Alley Plantation was on my Mom and I’s bucket list for years; we finally made the trip this summer and it was tremendous.
