Winter Lake, Fine Art Giclée Print

Winter Lake, Fine Art Giclée Print

from $32.00

Kentucky is some of the best parts of me and I’m proud to be from there. I feel strongly that Kentucky and Appalachia are one of the most beautiful, deeply precious, and widely overlooked places in America.

ART PRINT
Printed on museum-quality Somerset® Velvet paper, this piece has a soft, textured surface that echoes the original pastel painting. Prints can be finished with a hand-torn deckled edge—a nod to the torn-edge paper I use when creating the originals.

SIZE
Giclée paper prints are available in sizes starting with Petite (6×8”) and going up to Grand (22×30”)—a striking size for spacious, light-filled rooms. For alternative or European dimensions, please reach out to me directly.

BORDER STYLE OPTIONS
You may choose the border and edge style that best fits your space and how you plan to frame the piece.

Edge Style
Choose between a straight-cut edge or a hand-torn deckled edge.

The straight-cut edge offers a clean, contemporary look—refined and ready for traditional framing.
The hand-torn deckled edge lends a soft, sculptural quality, echoing the gentle irregularity of handmade paper. It’s a beautiful choice for float mounting or for those who love an artisan finish.

Border Width
Each edge style is available with either a ½-inch or 2-inch white border.

The ½-inch border provides a subtle margin—minimal and modern.
The 2-inch border offers a more classic presentation, reminiscent of fine art matting, and gives the piece room to breathe within the frame (perfect for those not wishing to mat their art print).

FRAMING
I’ve partnered with Simply Framed to offer a range of high-quality natural wood and antique-style frames tailored for these prints. Framing options will be available soon.

Paintsville Lake in Early November, ‘24,
Chalk pastel and mixed media on paper
20 × 28 inches (Original artwork only)

My Mom grew up in Paintsville, Eastern Kentucky, near West Virginia. My Meemee and extended family still live there. Going back to the mountains reminds me of being a kid again - taking Meem’s pontoon boat out on the lake and swimming in the mud to shore.

It reminds me of getting Dairy Queen (not franchised) and summers and holidays and climbing up the back “hill” to roam in the forest for hours - of running up the holler (a narrow road and neighborhood in the ridge between two mountains where traditionally, many of the same family generations would live) - of my cousins and funerals when the men carried the casket up the mountain to where every person buried there is my kin, and afterward singing bluegrass hymns acapella in the tiny Baptist church and the reunions where every dish was casserole.

Visiting Paintsville now is quiet and sad and hard at times. And still, being there feels important.

SHIPPING
Each print is made to order by one of my carefully selected, trade-certified printshops in the US, UK, or EU. Please allow 10–12 days for printing and thoughtful packaging.
