Tones & Themes:

Snow-Laden Branches, Quiet Waterways, Urban Wilderness, Stillness.
Why I Love It:
This piece embodies my favorite type of silence—the kind that arrives after snowfall. Inspired by a winter’s day in Central Park, it captures that soft moment when the city seems to rest. In amidst the busiest city in the world, a narrow stream cuts a path among stones seemingly unaware of any chaos around them. I created this painting in chalk pastel, the textures remain loose and expressive, and allow a dream-like quality to a natural landscape. I’m especially drawn to how the painting feels both intimate and dark, hopeful yet somber—best appreciated at a larger scale, where the movement of line and atmosphere can fully breathe.
My Art Inspiration:
The original painting was inspired by Central Park during a snowy New York winter—a place I came to know while living in the city for a year after college. At the time, I worked at Sotheby’s auction house on the Upper East Side, and Central Park became a place of refuge and retreat. Winter is exceptional in its ability to hold both ambition and solitude, beauty and fatigue, softness and harsh, biting cold. Like New York itself, the scene reflects contrast, reminding me how even the busiest times and places can offer moments of deep wonder.
ART PRINT
Printed on museum-quality Somerset® Velvet paper, this piece features a soft, tactile surface that mirrors the chalk pastel of the original work. Prints may be finished with a hand-torn deckled edge (US only)—a subtle homage to the torn-edge papers I use when creating my originals.
SIZE
Giclée paper prints are available from Petite (6×8”) up to Grand (22×30”)—a contemplative scale well-suited to airy, light-filled spaces. For alternative or European dimensions, feel free to contact me directly.
BORDER STYLE OPTIONS
Choose the border and edge style that best complements your space and framing intentions.
Edge Style
Select between a straight-cut edge or a hand-torn deckled edge (US only).
The straight-cut edge offers a clean, contemporary presentation—polished and well-suited for traditional framing.
The hand-torn deckled edge introduces a softer, organic feel, echoing the irregular beauty of handmade paper and ideal for float mounting or an artisan look.
Border Width
Both edge styles are available with either a ½-inch or 2-inch white border.
The ½-inch border is subtle and modern.
The 2-inch border provides a classic, gallery-like presence and allows the artwork to rest comfortably within the frame—perfect for those who prefer not to use a mat.
FRAMING
I’ve partnered with Simply Framed to offer a curated selection of natural wood and antique-style frames designed specifically for these prints. Framing options will be available soon.
