Part of my Sainte-Victoire Classics collection, “Purple Mountain” is an oil painting inspired by the mountain La Sainte-Victoire which looks out over the Provence region near Aix-en-Provence.

This was one of the first paintings I ever made en plein air at the Terrain des Peintres where Cézanne once painted, and thus holds a special place in my heart.

I painted this original oil painting en plein air a few minutes outside Aix-en-Provence, France. This mountain, Sainte-Victoire, has inspired many master painters such as Paul Cézanne and Leo Marchutz, as well as contemporary painters in the region (like me!)
DETAILS
